NOW Receives $2,000 from the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving
On Tuesday, July 21st, Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc. (NOW) Executive Director Sarah Wolfburg participated in a Zoom check presentation with other Connecticut organizations chosen as 2020 grant recipients of the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving. NOW was awarded $2,000, after being nominated by the local Putnam Wireless Zone store. This is the second grant NOW has received, with a $1,000 grant in 2019.
Each year, co-owners Neil Ryan and Scott Gladstone of the Wireless Zone- Verizon Premium Wireless Retailers in Groton, New London, Glastonbury, North Windham, Killingly, Putnam and Westerly elect several charities in their community that display extraordinary dedication to serve their respective organizations and fulfill their unique mission statements. This year, twenty of these grant requests were honored. In addition to NOW, the charities receiving grants in Connecticut are: Camp Horizons, End Hunger Connecticut, Girls on the Run International (Greater Hartford), Hartford HealthCare at Home Center for Hospice Care, Hartford Marathon Foundation, High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Inc., Jewish Federation of Eastern CT, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, TEEG and Waterford Country School.
NOW is a non-profit human services organization focused on youth wellness. NOW provides children with the opportunity to participate in area wellness activities and athletics programs, offering scholarships to the youth of the community with up to 95% of the cost being subsidized by NOW. The mission of the organization is to provide ALL children, regardless of financial resources, equal opportunities to achieve & maintain youth wellness, beginning at an early age.
