NOW has launched a fundraiser in honor of Red Ribbon Week, an initiative to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. Titled “Save Your Red Pennies for Red Ribbon Week” the fundraiser asks the community to collect and donate their pocket change through October 28th. Participants can bring their collection to the Young Marines 5k Running Drugs Out of Town Fun Run  at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, Ocotber 28th at Bull Hill Recreational Area in Thompson. All submitted collections will be weighed prior to the start of the Fun Run – with the individual or team with the heaviest collection winning the title of “Red Ribbon Warrior” and will also receive a free entry in the Fun Run*. This is a fun activity for children – with classrooms, teams, clubs, and families encouraged to participate.
